Faïa Skorda bids farewell as Mega's 'Buongiorno' ends
On Friday 26 June 2024 the Greek channel Mega announced the permanent cancellation of its morning programme Buongiorno after two seasons. Presenter Faïa Skorda closed the final broadcast with an emotional farewell, thanking the television audience and the production team. She said, “All things happen for a reason; every season that ends we say goodbye to the public,” and added that the show aimed “not to overburden people” while promising to end with a smile.
Skorda was seen leaving the studio with her partner Alexander Athanasiadi, and several colleagues – including co‑host Andreas Mikroutsikos and senior staff – expressed gratitude for the five‑year collaboration. The episode featured a performance of Marina Spano’s song “Taxidi,” and Spano, a guest on the show, recounted how she began her musical career during the pandemic, saying, “I went out onto the street with a guitar because I wanted to connect with people.”
The abrupt termination sparked discussion among media professionals about Mega’s financial decision and the future of Greek morning television.
