Epidemiological analysis indicates the outbreak began in mid-July, potentially introduced through air or sea travel. The effective reproduction number has stabilized at approximately 1.3.

While investigations continue, authorities have stated there is currently no evidence linking the cases to the public water supply, though testing remains ongoing as a precaution.
