The Anubis ransomware gang claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Fairlife, the U.S. dairy brand owned by Coca‑Cola. The group says it stole about one terabyte of confidential data and threatened to leak it unless a ransom is paid, giving the company a deadline at the end of the week.

Coca‑Cola disclosed the incident on 16 July, noting unauthorized access to network sections that include production systems. As a result, Fairlife’s U.S. production was temporarily halted, though Canadian facilities remained unaffected and product safety was not compromised. The company is working with external advisors and cybersecurity experts to assess the breach and restore systems.

Fairlife, which generates over $3 billion in annual retail sales, has warned that the full scope and impact of the attack are still unknown. The ransomware operation, which emerged in late 2024, uses a dual‑execution model that can both encrypt files and optionally wipe them irreversibly.
