Fairmont Hotels & Resorts opens 100th luxury property in New Orleans

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has officially opened the Fairmont New Orleans, marking the brand’s 100th hotel worldwide. The 250-room luxury property is located in the Central Business District and represents the brand’s return to the city after 20 years.

Developed by Kailas Companies, the hotel occupies 17 stories of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a 31-story landmark designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 1970. The design, led by Rockwell Group, incorporates restored architectural elements such as the entrance canopy, lobby floors, and cypress wood ceilings, while drawing aesthetic inspiration from 1970s glamour.

Amenities include over 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a rooftop pool, and wellness facilities. The hotel also features destination dining in partnership with Chef Emeril Lagasse.
