Fairphone 6+ leaks reveal hardware upgrades and new colors

Leaks have revealed detailed specifications for the upcoming Fairphone 6+, a mid-cycle hardware refresh of the company’s modular smartphone. The device is expected to maintain the brand’s signature focus on repairability, allowing users to easily replace components like the battery, screen, and camera modules using standard tools.

Key hardware upgrades include a move from 8GB to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a transition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. The device will reportedly feature a 6.31-inch P-OLED LTPO display with an adaptive 10-120Hz refresh rate, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Storage is expected to remain at 256GB UFS 3.1, with continued support for microSD expansion.

The smartphone is anticipated to run Android 16 and will be available in three colors: Horizon Black, Forest Green, and a new Cobalt Blue. While the core design remains similar to the standard Fairphone 6, the improved specifications are expected to result in a higher price point, with some reports suggesting a cost of approximately 649 euros.
