Fairshake crypto PAC spends $1.5 million on ads in Florida, Alaska and Wyoming after Michigan primary loss

After a primary defeat for a Protect Progress‑backed candidate in Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, two Fairshake‑affiliated political action committees—Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress—disclosed spending of more than $1.5 million on television and digital ads supporting House and Senate candidates in three other states.

In Alaska, Defend American Jobs allocated over $500,000 to incumbent Rep. Nick Begich’s re‑election campaign. Similar sums were directed to Republican Sydney Gruters in Florida’s 16th district and to Rep. Harriet Hageman, who is running for the soon‑to‑be‑vacant Wyoming Senate seat. All three candidates have voted for the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act and the GENIUS Act, legislation favored by the cryptocurrency industry. The PAC’s total spending in the 2024 election cycle exceeds $170 million, including more than $2 million spent on the Michigan race that ended in a loss for the incumbent Shri Thanedar.
