Fairshake PAC pledges $30M to oppose Sherrod Brown in Ohio

Fairshake PAC, a political action committee largely funded by cryptocurrency companies such as Coinbase and Ripple Labs, has pledged $30 million to oppose Democrat Sherrod Brown in his bid to return to the U.S. Senate in Ohio.

The PAC’s decision follows Brown’s previous role as a critic of the cryptocurrency sector and his tenure as a key figure on the Senate Banking Committee. This move follows a significant expenditure in 2024, where Fairshake spent approximately $41 million to support Republican Bernie Moreno and oppose Brown, a campaign that saw Brown lose his seat by roughly four points.

Spokesperson Geoff Vetter indicated that the PAC expects to announce additional expenditures before the midterm elections on November 3. Fairshake reportedly maintains a $122 million war chest as it seeks to influence key races during the 2026 election cycle, when control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate will be contested.
