Faith in Families distributes 35,000 free school uniforms in Wales
The Swansea-based charity Faith in Families has distributed approximately 35,000 items of free school uniform to 26 schools across Swansea and Bridgend. The initiative, delivered through the Cwtch Mawr Multibank Cymru, provided roughly 2,509 backpack-led uniform allocations to support families facing high costs at the start of the school year.
The procurement, which cost £160,065, was funded by the Welsh Government’s essential-items funding. The total volume of items includes approximately 2,903 uniform packs, comprising garments such as shirts, socks, underwear, and tights. The distribution model allows schools to opt in and allocate items based on school size and individual student requirements, aiming to provide practical support through trusted local channels.
