Fake Air‑Conditioner Scam Targets French Consumers on Social Media and Amazon

A fraudulent scheme selling counterfeit air‑conditioners has been reported across French social‑media platforms and Amazon. Websites using brands such as EpiCooler, Cooling, Breezo and Coolizy advertise ultra‑efficient, low‑price units, often featuring fabricated customer counts, countdown timers and a fake story about a French engineer. In reality, the products are low‑grade fans shipped from China, sometimes never delivered, and victims have been charged multiple times for the same order.

The French national anti‑scam task‑force has issued guidance to help consumers avoid such offers, urging verification of seller credentials and warning that the scam is also appearing in other European countries.
