Gujarat police arrest Jaykaran Prajapat for illegal medical practice, seize 31 drug brands

Gujarat Police arrested Jaykaran Prajapat in Valsad district after a raid on a rented house near Valveri Phatak. He was found treating patients with allopathic medicines despite having no medical degree. The operation recovered 31 different brands of medicines valued at roughly Rs 53,751.

The FIR was lodged under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 30 of the Medical Practitioners Act. The raid was carried out following directions issued by Surat Division Inspector General of Police Prem Veer Singh, Valsad Superintendent of Police Dr Yuvrajsinh Jadeja and Dharampur Assistant Superintendent of Police Dr Sandeep T. This arrest is part of a wider crackdown on unqualified medical practitioners in Gujarat, which has seen similar actions in Dahod, Borsad and other districts earlier this year.
