Fake federal agents operating checkpoints on Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca highway

Security alerts have been issued regarding fraudulent checkpoints operating on the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca highway, specifically near the San José Miahuatlán toll booth in Puebla. Criminals are reportedly impersonating agents of the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) using unmarked private vehicles or units equipped with strobe lights and fraudulent markings, including logos from the defunct Federal Police.

These individuals use the guise of official inspections to force motorists to stop. Once stopped, the suspects reportedly coerce drivers, demand money under threat, and rob passengers of personal belongings, electronics, and merchandise transported from the United States. Travelers are being advised to verify official credentials and exercise extreme caution when encountering checkpoints in the region.
