Faker expresses ambition ahead of League of Legends Worlds 2026

As the 2026 League of Legends World Championship approaches, T1 midlaner Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok has reaffirmed his commitment to continuous improvement. Despite a career spanning over 13 years and six world titles, the 30-year-old veteran stated in an interview with Hotspawn that he believes there is “no limit” to his progression, noting that the modern game requires a more methodical approach than in previous years.

Faker also observed that the gap between Asian and Western teams is narrowing, citing the competitive potential shown by European and North American organizations this season.

Ahead of the tournament, discussions have emerged regarding Faker's recent performance. Leaked solo queue statistics have sparked debate among fans, with some questioning if age and pressure are affecting his form, while others suggest T1 may be intentionally hiding his true skill level. T1 has secured its qualification for the event following the LCK playoffs, where Gen.G’s victory over KT Rolster guaranteed T1 at least a fourth seed from South Korea.
