Fakuma trade fair showcases innovations in plastic processing and simulation

At the Fakuma trade fair, companies are showcasing advancements in plastic processing and simulation technologies.

Excelitas is presenting innovative infrared radiators and systems designed for precise, space-saving, and energy-efficient thermal processes. These systems can follow production lines and adapt to different widths to minimize energy loss. A practical application is seen at Renolit’s facility in Cramlington, UK, where customized infrared solutions are used to emboss PVC laminates with wood grain patterns, improving efficiency compared to traditional ceramic heating systems.

Sigma Engineering is demonstrating version 6.2 of Sigmasoft Virtual Molding. The software allows for injection molding simulations without the need for physical machines or molds. During the trade fair, visitors can provide their own geometry data to have real-time simulation models built on-site, demonstrating how modern simulation can provide rapid solutions for specific manufacturing challenges.
