Falcón tourism sector urges bridge repairs to Morrocoy National Park

The tourism industry of Venezuela's Falcón state has asked regional authorities to carry out urgent repairs on the bridges that provide access to Parque Nacional Morrocoy. Service providers say the deteriorating structures are curbing visitor numbers and threatening the local economy of the Monseñor and Iturriza municipalities ahead of the upcoming vacation season. Richard Zambrano, president of the Falcón Chamber of Tourism, warned that the bridge damage stems not only from a recent earthquake but also from long‑standing lack of maintenance. The sector is also calling for temporary fiscal relief for affected businesses to mitigate the drop in tourism revenue. Officials are urged to act quickly before the next holiday period.
