Falco documentary 'Mon Amour' premieres on Arte

A new one‑hour documentary titled "Falco – Mon Amour" will be broadcast on the cultural channel Arte on 18 September 2026 at 21:45, with later availability in the broadcaster’s online library. The film presents the life of Austrian pop star Falco (Hans Hölzel) primarily through the eyes of his last romantic partner, Canadian‑born Caroline Perron, who recounts their relationship from 1996‑1997 and his personal struggles with self‑doubt and drug use.

Directed by longtime collaborator Hannes Rossacher – half of the DoRo production duo with Rudi Dolezal, known for work with Queen and the Rolling Stones – the documentary features interviews with former band members, producers and other musical associates. It traces Falco’s early performances in Vienna’s underground clubs, his chart‑topping hits, and the troubled final years that ended with his fatal car accident in February 1998. Post‑humously, Perron appeared in the 2009 video for Falco’s song “The Spirit Never Dies.”
