Falconara Albanese to inaugurate new Senior Center

The town of Falconara Albanese will inaugurate its new Senior Center on Saturday, October 24, at 5:00 PM in Piazza del Popolo. The facility is designed as a recreational space to promote social interaction, craft activities, and the preservation of local traditions.

Mayor Giuseppe Porco and Vice Mayor Arianna De Bartolo emphasized that the center aims to view seniors not merely as recipients of assistance, but as experienced individuals and custodians of community identity. Local associations will play a key role in organizing activities to facilitate exchange between elderly residents and younger generations.

The opening is part of the “Non più Soli e… Memorie in Cammino” pilot project, which targets the over-65 population to promote active aging and combat involuntary loneliness. The initiative was conceived by the ATS 2 Cetraro–Paola social area and is implemented by the ‘Il Raggio Verde’ social cooperative. Falconara Albanese is the first municipality within the project area to activate a dedicated space for its elderly population.
