Falic Group to acquire luxury travel retail at Zayed International Airport

Falic Group has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of DFS’s luxury travel retail business at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. The Miami-based company, which operates Duty Free Americas, expects the transaction to close in the third quarter of the year, subject to customary closing conditions.

The acquisition provides Duty Free Americas with an immediate presence in the Middle East, serving as a platform for potential expansion across the region and Africa. The concessions include high-end brands in fashion, jewelry, watches, and sunglasses, such as Gucci, Hermès, and Bottega Veneta.

Leon Falic, President of Falic Group, stated that the move is a key milestone in their Middle East growth strategy. Future plans for the airport terminal include introducing new flagship brands, expanding existing retail footprints, and creating innovative open-air retail areas to enhance the passenger experience.
