Falkenhütte in Austria opens tenancy applications for 2027

The historic Falkenhütte, a Category I Alpine Club hut situated at 1,848 m in the Karwendel mountains of Tirol, Austria, is seeking new lessees starting June 2027. The German Alpine Club (DAV) Munich & Oberland calls for applicants who combine entrepreneurial skill with ecological responsibility, can preserve the hut’s heritage character, and are enthusiastic about working in an alpine environment.

The hut offers 131 sleeping places, multiple dining rooms with a capacity for up to 600 meals, and a 32 m² tenant apartment. Operators are expected to provide simple, regional, seasonal cuisine, emphasizing vegetarian and vegan options.
