FALPO marches in San Francisco de Macorís over unfulfilled public works

The Frente Amplio de Lucha Popular (FALPO) organized a march in San Francisco de Macorís on Wednesday, September 9, to demand that the government fulfill various infrastructure and service commitments.

Protesters called for the completion of unfinished public works, including street paving, the development of the Plaza de la Cultura, and improvements to the San Francisco de Macorís–Río San Juan highway. They also highlighted the need for better access to potable water, electricity, and attention to agrarian settlements.

The group questioned official statements regarding the progress of local works and noted that many promises made during a meeting with President Luis Abinader one year ago remain unfulfilled. In response to the mobilization, security was reinforced at the Provincial Governor's offices. FALPO has announced a follow-up activity at Duarte Park on October 2.
