Falun Gong practitioners hold major protests in Toronto and Prague

Falun Gong practitioners held large-scale protests and marches in Toronto and Prague to condemn persecution by the Chinese Communist Party and demand an end to transnational repression.

In Toronto, thousands of participants marched through the city center, including Yonge Street and Chinatown. Protesters highlighted instances of harassment, surveillance, and threats, such as bomb threats directed at Shen Yun Performing Arts productions. Dr. Maria Cheung, a professor emerita from the University of Manitoba, called for legal protections against foreign interference and transnational repression.

In Prague, practitioners from approximately 30 countries gathered for a major demonstration and an exchange conference. The events included large-scale group exercises at Castle Square and parades through the historic Royal Route and Wenceslas Square. Participants used the gatherings to call for the release of detained practitioners and to draw international attention to allegations of forced organ harvesting and human rights abuses.
