Falun Gong practitioners report severe abuse and deaths in Chinese prisons

Reports from Minghui and Epoch Times detail severe physical and psychological abuse of Falun Gong practitioners within the Chinese prison system.

In Chengdu, 54-year-old Luo Yi was reportedly subjected to systematic torture at Longquan Women's Prison following a two-year and eight-month sentence. Allegations include forced long-term sitting in rigid military postures, deprivation of basic hygiene such as bathing and toilet paper, and suspected poisoning of food. Luo underwent a four-month hunger strike, resulting in extreme weight loss.

In Guizhou, 78-year-old Liu Shuling passed away just 27 days after being released from Guizhou First Women's Prison. Her family reported that she suffered paralysis and significant memory loss during her five-year sentence, which they attribute to violence and forced medication. Upon her release, medical examinations revealed broken ribs and a broken thigh bone.

These cases are presented alongside several other accounts of practitioners dying shortly after release from various facilities in Liaoning, Jiangsu, Heilongjiang, and Henan provinces, following periods of imprisonment and alleged mistreatment.
