Falun hosts international youth skiing training camp
Falun recently hosted the FIS Training Days at the Lugnet arena, an international training camp designed to support the development of young cross-country skiers. The initiative focused on athletes aged 15 to 19, particularly those from smaller skiing nations, providing them with the opportunity to train on a venue scheduled to host the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
Participants engaged in a regimen including roller skiing on asphalt tracks, strength training, and running. Tobias Söderberg Jönsson, the sports director of the World Championship organization, noted that the program is a positive step for both the individual athletes and the sport as a whole. Coach Alberto Rigoni highlighted that the camp aids in the professional and personal development of the skiers through high-level training and community engagement.
