Families in Peru and Mexico demand answers in long-term disappearance cases

In Peru, the family of Miguel Alexander Infante Huaqui continues to seek justice nearly six months after his disappearance. The victim's father has requested that prosecutors lift the communications secrecy of several suspects, including Jaime Pérez Damaceno, following evidence that contradicts previous statements made by the primary suspect. The family has also called for a change in the police instructor assigned to the case, citing a lack of progress since the investigation moved to the homicide unit.

In Mexico, Ceci Flores is organizing a special search operation in Juan José Ríos, Sinaloa, to locate her son, Alejandro Guadalupe Islas Flores, who disappeared 11 years ago. Flores alleges that an armed command, allegedly led by Alfonso Orduño, also known as ‘El Chato’, was responsible for his disappearance. A search effort is scheduled from October 26 to 31, with organizers requesting anonymous tips from the public to help resolve the case.
