Families launch searches for missing women in Peru and Mexico
Separate missing persons cases have emerged in Peru and Mexico, prompting urgent searches by families.
In Paucarpata, Peru, the family of 16-year-old Nicole is searching for her after she disappeared on Sunday, September 27. Nicole left her home in the Miguel Grau area, reportedly stating she wanted to stay home to complete schoolwork. Her mother, Vilma Ponce, reported that the teenager sent a text message stating she would return at 4:10 p.m., but she has not been seen since and her mobile phone has been turned off.
In Mexico, the family of 38-year-old Jazmín Adriana Méndez staged a protest by blocking Avenida Central to demand progress in her investigation. Méndez disappeared on Sunday, September 27, after leaving her home in the Estrella neighborhood to meet an ex-partner. Her sister, Valeria Pineda, stated that digital tracking placed Méndez's last known location in the Valle de Chalco municipality. The family expressed frustration over a perceived lack of support from authorities in Ecatepec and Chalco.
