Puerto Peñasco authorities seize 18 vehicles, including 17 stolen from the U.S

Authorities in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, seized 18 vehicles from the basement of a luxury apartment complex during an investigation into the disappearance of two individuals. One of the missing persons reportedly worked as the complex's maintenance manager.

Of the 18 vehicles recovered, 17 were confirmed by U.S. authorities to have been reported stolen in California, Arizona, or Nevada between 2021 and 2025. The seized fleet includes high-end models from brands such as Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Land Rover.

Additionally, officials seized a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee that featured aftermarket armor; narcotics were discovered inside this vehicle. The investigation is also linked to an armed attack on October 4 in Puerto Peñasco that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man.
