Family campaigns to repatriate Brazilian student's body from Argentina

The family of Lucas Horran da Silva Rocha, a 25-year-old medical student from Santa Cruz, Rio Grande do Norte, has launched a fundraising campaign to repatriate his body from Argentina.

Rocha had been studying in La Plata for approximately five years before his death on September 2. Due to the high costs of international transport and bureaucratic procedures, which are estimated at approximately R$ 35,000, his family and friends have turned to social media to seek donations. As of the latest reports, the campaign has raised roughly R$ 32,500.

The local community and digital influencers have expressed support for the initiative. The Municipality of Santa Cruz has also offered assistance for the transportation of the body from the state capital to the student's hometown.
