Family consumption intention rises in Rio Branco and Cuiabá

Consumer confidence showed divergent trends in Brazilian cities during October 2026. In Rio Branco, the Family Consumption Intention (ICF) rose by 0.8 percent to 122.4 points, contrasting with a 0.8 percent national decline that brought the Brazilian average to 103.6 points. Rio Branco’s indicator remains 18.8 points above the national average, reflecting a 7.4 percent annual growth.

In Cuiabá, the ICF increased by 1.4 percent to 106.3 points after four consecutive months of decline. While this marks a recovery, the level remains below the 107.1 points recorded in October 2025. In Cuiabá, professional outlook and installment purchases saw the highest growth, though current income and employment perceptions experienced slight decreases.

Across both regions, data from the National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) indicates that while employment and income perceptions drive growth, families remain cautious regarding credit access and high-value purchases.
