Family disputes involving elderly victims reported in Paraná

Two separate incidents of domestic disputes involving elderly victims were reported by the Military Police in the state of Paraná, Brazil.

In Apucarana, a 61-year-old man was reported for verbally abusing his 85-year-old father and his sister. The incident occurred after the man, who had recently returned from medical treatment in Curitiba, consumed alcohol. The victim's daughter expressed fear for her parents' physical safety, noting that the man had previously displayed intimidating behavior toward his father. Police provided guidance on protective measures and the process for requesting the removal of the individual from the residence.

In Rio Bom, a 47-year-old man allegedly threatened to throw his 77-year-old father down a flight of stairs. The victim informed authorities that his son is a drug user who frequently exhibits aggressive behavior within the household. Although the threat was confirmed, the elderly victim declined to file formal criminal charges against his son at that time. Police documented the occurrence in an official report for record-keeping purposes.
