Family mental health workshops begin in Mexico and Argentina

In Cuautlancingo, Mexico, the municipal DIF system partnered with the nonprofit Paternalia to run a workshop called “Encuentro conmigo a través de mis emociones” for parents at local childcare centers. The program, praised by DIF president Tere Alfaro, aimed to teach emotional recognition and management to strengthen family bonds and support children’s development.

In Tucumán, Argentina, the Hospital del Carmen, under the Ministry of Public Health led by Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, launched a series of psycho‑educational sessions for the community. The first meeting, “Hablemos en familia: cómo nos comunicamos en casa,” was led by therapist Mauricio Guido Macías and focused on improving communication within families. The initiative is part of a government effort to promote mental‑health prevention and will continue with monthly workshops.

Both efforts seek to enhance emotional wellbeing and family relationships through public workshops and professional guidance.
