Family farming featured in Arquivo A report

The television program Arquivo A will feature a report on family farming, highlighting the dedication and challenges faced by those working in the countryside. The segment explores how family farming is essential to Brazil's history, its role in combating hunger, and its contribution to a more just society. This importance is underscored by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, which has declared 2019 to 2028 as the Decade of Family Farming.

The report includes several specific cases in the state of São Paulo: the Costa family in Taubaté, who derive 80% of their income from farming; a couple in São Bento do Sapucaí utilizing social media to expand their sales; and a woman in Natividade da Serra who transitioned from city life to farming the native cambuci fruit.

Additionally, the program will examine the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. This socioeconomic partnership allows consumers to act as co-farmers by financing crops in exchange for weekly food deliveries, creating a direct link between producers and consumers.
