Family law professionals convene for conferences and networking events

The National Family Law Conference in Hobart, Australia, saw record attendance this week, with over 1,400 lawyers participating in the three-day event. Law Council of Australia President Tania Wolff described it as the largest regularly held legal professional development event in the Southern Hemisphere. The conference featured a ‘State of the Nation’ panel including Attorney-General Michelle Rowland and Chief Justice William Alstergren, focusing on strengthening the family law system, child safety, and legal workforce issues.

In the United Kingdom, the charity Fresh Futures hosted a networking event for family law professionals and District Judges at its Family Time Centre. The session aimed to improve understanding of the ‘Family Time’ service, which provides safe environments for children to visit parents when independent arrangements are not possible. The event sought to strengthen links between legal professionals and local support providers in the Kirklees region.
