Fifth Settlement family massacre linked to financial dispute

Egyptian security forces have arrested a suspect in connection with the massacre of a family in the Fifth Settlement, New Cairo. The investigation revealed that the perpetrator, a retired acquaintance of the victim, targeted the family due to financial disputes involving unpaid debts and gold bullion.

The suspect allegedly killed the head of the household first, disposing of the body near the Sokhna Road. He then contacted the victim's wife, claiming her husband had been in a car accident and providing a location for her to meet him. When the woman arrived with her two daughters, the suspect opened fire, killing all three. Their bodies were later discovered inside a covered vehicle in the Al-Nargis area.

Following a seven-hour interrogation by the Cairo Public Prosecution, the suspect was detained for four days pending further investigation. Authorities are currently conducting forensic examinations and reviewing surveillance footage to finalize the timeline of the crime.
