Family of Anthony Camizán demands capture of fugitive police officer

Four years after the disappearance of Anthony Camizán Guerrero, a former civil engineering student from the University of Piura, his family is demanding justice and the capture of the primary suspect.

Camizán disappeared on August 21 while traveling from Canchaque toward Piura. The family has identified Edixon Rone Córdova Godos, a sub-officer of the National Police of Peru, as the main suspect. Despite a preventive detention order being issued eight months ago, Córdova Godos remains a fugitive.

In a demonstration at the Plazuela Tres Culturas in Piura, the family, led by the victim's brother Junior Camizán, requested that the Ministry of the Interior include the officer on the “most wanted” list and offer a reward for his capture. The family expressed frustration over the judicial timeline, noting that the oral trial is not scheduled to begin until May 27 of next year.
