Family of Kacper Bucki seeks justice after death in Świdnica hospital

The family of 29-year-old Kacper Bucki has launched a fundraising campaign to seek justice following his death, which they attribute to questionable medical decisions at an emergency department in Świdnica.

Bucki, who suffered from type 1 diabetes and required dialysis, was admitted to the Świdnica hospital emergency room on September 1 after experiencing seizures. Medical records indicate that although cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed within the first hour of his admission, he was returned home by ambulance later that same day in a semi-naked and unresponsive state. On September 2, instead of receiving dialysis, he was referred for a psychiatric consultation in Wałbrzych. Following subsequent cardiac arrests, Bucki died in intensive care on September 5.

The Świdnica District Prosecutor's Office is currently conducting a verification proceeding to determine whether to formally launch an investigation into involuntary manslaughter. In response to the situation, the family has started a collection on Pomagam.pl titled ‘Justice for Kacper’ with a goal of 50,000 PLN to cover legal fees and independent medical expert assessments.
