Family of late singer Mohbad seeks delay of DNA test

The family of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has requested a postponement of a DNA test scheduled for October 31 at the Mainland General Hospital in Yaba, Lagos. The test aims to determine the paternity of the singer’s son, Liam.

In a statement signed by family head Samuel Aloba, the family expressed concerns regarding the transparency of the process. They are demanding the full name, address, and accreditation details of a United States laboratory that is reportedly expected to analyze the biological samples.

The family questioned the arrangement where samples would be collected in Lagos and sent abroad, seeking clarification on whether the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, which was designated by a court order, would conduct the examination itself or merely act as a courier. They have called for a documented chain of custody to ensure the integrity of the specimens during transport and analysis.
