Family Preserves 15 July Martyr Gülşah Güler’s Home in Hatay

Gülşah Güler, a special‑operations officer killed in the 15 July 2016 coup‑attempt bomb attack, is commemorated by her parents in Kırıkhan, Hatay. Ten years after her death, Hüseyin and Emine Güler have turned the upstairs room of their home into a memorial house, keeping her belongings and the room exactly as she left it. They say they maintain “the smallest memory” to ease their longing for their daughter and to honour her sacrifice.

The family describes their grief as still fresh but balanced by pride in Gülşah’s service. Their grandchildren have been named after her, and relatives continue the tradition of remembering her. The parents expressed gratitude to the state and nation, urging that the memory of 15 July not be forgotten.
