Family seeks N300m compensation after student's death at Ogun factory

The family of Ayomide Aiguokhian, a 22-year-old university student, is seeking N300m in compensation following his death at Lexzis Production Company in Mowe, Ogun State. Aiguokhian, a 400-level student at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, was reportedly electrocuted while working at the Chinese-owned facility during his holiday on September 8, 2026.

His father, Smart Aiguokhian, has accused the company's management of negligence. He alleged that the company failed to notify the family of the incident, stating that he only discovered his son's death after being contacted by a mortuary attendant the following morning. The family expressed profound distress over the manner in which the deceased was handled and the condition of his body upon identification.
