FamilyMart and Seven-Eleven launch seasonal steamed bun lineups
Major Japanese convenience chains FamilyMart and Seven-Eleven have launched their seasonal steamed bun (chūkamann) offerings.
FamilyMart has introduced its premium 'Gokiuma Kurobuta Man,' which uses 100% domestic black pork and features a larger size and higher meat-to-dough ratio compared to its standard products. The premium item has seen consistent sales growth since its debut in 2019.
Seven-Eleven has implemented a product renewal as of August 25, focusing on improved dough texture and ingredient balance. To promote the new lineup, the retailer is holding a four-day sale from September 2 to September 5, offering discounts of up to 52 yen on select items, including the 'Hokahoka Gorotto Nikuman' and 'Hokahoka Juicy Oiri Butaman.'
