FamilyMart targets 300 stores in Hanoi by 2031

FamilyMart has officially entered the Hanoi market, marking a strategic expansion into northern Vietnam. Following its first store opening in August 2026, the company has announced an ambitious goal to establish a network of 300 stores in Hanoi by fiscal year 2031.

This move shifts focus from the increasingly saturated southern market in Ho Chi Minh City to the north, where modern retail is still developing. FamilyMart faces intense competition in Hanoi from established players like Circle K, the rapidly expanding South Korean chain GS25, and Seven-Eleven, which is also targeting northern expansion.

The expansion leverages Vietnam's growing middle class and young demographic, aiming to capture consumer habits in a region where convenience store usage is still evolving.
