FamilyMart launches breakfast combo discount in Japan

FamilyMart has launched a new breakfast promotion called the ‘Asa Famima Kombi-wari’ (Morning Famima Combo Discount) across approximately 16,100 stores in Japan. Starting September 15, customers can purchase a set consisting of either an onigiri (rice ball) or bread, paired with a tea or coffee, for a flat price of 250 yen (including tax).

The promotion is available daily between 5:00 AM and 11:00 AM. There are 117 possible combinations available, featuring 5 types of onigiri, 8 types of bread, 5 types of tea, and 4 types of coffee. This initiative is part of the company’s 45th-anniversary celebrations and aims to provide value to consumers amidst rising inflation.

While the discount is nationwide, certain exceptions apply: the promotion is not available in some regions, such as Okinawa, and some stores in Kagoshima Prefecture may charge 265 yen for certain combinations. An internal survey of 273 employees showed high enthusiasm for the campaign, with 96.3% of frequent convenience store users recommending the deal.
