FamilyMart launches “Honki no Choko-gake Pan” chocolate bread series
FamilyMart has expanded its “Honki no Choko-gake Pan” (Serious Chocolate-Coated Bread) series, adding the “Honki no Choko Nama Koppepan” (with plenty of chocolate whip) to its lineup on October 27, 2026. The new product features a chocolate-coated bread roll filled with chocolate whip and made with fresh cream.
The series utilizes an original chocolate coating made from cacao mass sourced from three different regions: Ecuador, Ghana, and Côte d'Ivoire. The full lineup now includes four varieties: the new chocolate whip koppe-pan, chocolate cream pan, chocolate Danish melon pan, and chocolate Queen Amann.
This product launch comes amid rising chocolate prices. According to data from Teikoku Databank, the average price per piece of Valentine's chocolate is expected to reach 436 yen in 2026, a 4.3% increase from the previous year. FamilyMart aims to provide an accessible way to enjoy chocolate through its bakery line, Famimaru Bakery.
