FamilyMart to launch affordable ‘Nori Bento’ in Japan

FamilyMart is launching a new bento box, the ‘Famima The Nori Bento’, at its approximately 16,500 stores across Japan on October 6. Priced at 498 yen (including tax), the product is designed to meet consumer demand for satisfying, affordable lunch options amid rising inflation.

The meal includes 220g of rice topped with dashi soy sauce, dried bonito, and seaweed, accompanied by various side dishes such as fish fry, croquettes, chikuwa tempura, and a boiled egg. This release is part of the company’s ‘Famima The Series’, which has previously seen high sales volumes with items like melon pan and crepes.

To celebrate the launch and the company’s 45th anniversary, FamilyMart is running a promotion from October 6 to October 12, where customers purchasing the bento can receive a free voucher for select Oi Ocha tea products.
