Fanatics Sportsbook fined $20,000 in Colorado for self-exclusion violations
Fanatics Sportsbook has been fined $20,000 by Colorado regulators for violating self-exclusion protocols. The Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission confirmed that the operator sent promotional messages to a VIP player who had been on the state’s voluntary exclusion list since January 2026.
The violations occurred in February, when a member of the Fanatics VIP team contacted the player via text despite their active five-year exclusion status. Fanatics has acknowledged the breach and reached a settlement with state authorities, committing to audit its self-exclusion procedures and improve technical segmentation to prevent future occurrences.
This enforcement action follows recent legislative updates in Colorado, specifically SB26-131 signed by Governor Jared Polis. The new laws introduce stricter compliance standards for sportsbook operators, including bans on credit card deposits, limits on daily deposits, and restrictions on marketing language and target audiences.
