Fang Ji Handmade Dumplings, a long-standing establishment in Kaohsiung’s Liuhe Night Market, has announced its retirement after more than 50 years of operation. The owner cited increasing age and the difficulty of training new staff in the food service industry as the primary reasons for closing the shop.

Following the announcement, many regular customers expressed nostalgia on social media, with some requesting that the shop transition to a delivery-only model to preserve its flavors. The closure marks the end of a half-century era for the night market landmark.
