Fanling water pipe burst disrupts supply to Cheung Wah Estate

A 200mm diameter water pipe burst at the junction of San Wan Road and Fanling Station Road near Cheung Wah Estate in Fanling around 10:00 PM on the 16th. The incident caused a significant amount of muddy water to flood the area, reaching depths of approximately one foot and covering a 20-meter by 20-meter area.

The burst resulted in water supply disruptions for several buildings within Cheung Wah Estate. The force of the water caused road swelling and cracks, which briefly obstructed bus traffic.

The Water Supplies Department responded by deploying water tankers and tanks to provide temporary water to affected residents. Following water supply scheduling and repairs, service to Cheung Wah Estate was gradually restored starting around 1:30 AM on the 17th. Engineering teams remained on-site to complete necessary pipe repairs.
