Cartoceto hosts 49th edition of DOP oil and olive festival

The 49th edition of 'Cartoceto DOP, il Festival – Mostra Mercato dell’Olio e dell’Oliva' opened on October 25 in Cartoceto, Italy. Organized by the Municipality of Cartoceto and Pro Loco Cartoceto APS, the event features a market of excellence, tastings, and cultural activities aimed at promoting high-quality olive oil and regional agro-food products.

The festival includes various activities such as 'Il mercato delle cose buone', local workshops, and guided walks through green paths. Regional officials, including Marche Vice President and Agriculture Assessor Enrico Rossi, noted the event's importance in the regional strategy to enhance olive growing and quality oil production. The ceremony was attended by local authorities and a delegation from the German twin town of Hügelsheim.

Other regional culinary events are also underway, including the 'I Tesori di Mare, di Terra e di Sapore' awards in Fano to promote local economic and gastronomic heritage, and the upcoming 'ReOlio 2026' in Reggello, Tuscany, which focuses on the relationship between extra virgin olive oil and health.
