Fano, Italy reports two critical dog abandonment incidents

In Fano, a 1½‑year‑old dog named Ludo remains in the home of his late owner Andrea, who died from a serious illness. Friends are seeking a new family for Ludo, describing him as affectionate, large and in need of stability.

Separately, a mixed‑breed dog called Pongo was left alone in an apartment while his owner was on vacation. Volunteers from the animal‑welfare group Melampo found him near death after days without food or water, rescued him, and arranged veterinary treatment. Both cases have drawn local concern over animal abandonment and welfare.
