Fano Mayor Luca Serfilippi Announces 60‑Bed Alzheimer Care Facility

Mayor Luca Serfilippi of Fano announced that the regional government, led by Governor Francesco Acquaroli, has approved a special allocation of 60 beds for a new residential care facility for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The centre will be built on land belonging to the Fondazione Carifano, adjacent to the Margherita day‑care centre on Via Ingualchiera. It will be organized into two units of 30 places each, aiming to serve the more than 1,200 local residents diagnosed with dementia. The approval allows the reopening of the local services conference and the completion of the authorisation process. Foundation president Giorgio Gragnola welcomed the decision, describing it as a concrete response to a growing need for specialised care close to home.
