Fans use AI and surveillance tricks to anticipate Rockstar's GTA 6 release

A developer named Ziwen Xu has begun recreating Rockstar's highly awaited title GTA 6 with the help of Anthropic’s Claude AI. Using a technique called "devibe coding," Xu generates and corrects code from natural‑language prompts, aiming to launch his version before Rockstar’s official November 2026 release. He reports that the AI mistakenly placed the game’s city in Los Angeles instead of the intended Florida setting and has already used a large portion of his Claude quota.

Meanwhile, Reddit user "Then‑Pomegranate‑625" has stationed himself outside Rockstar’s offices, counting discarded cigarette butts, measuring ambient noise levels and tracking foot traffic to forecast the timing of the next GTA 6 trailer. He claims the data indicate an imminent third trailer, though Rockstar has not commented on any of these fan‑driven predictions.
