Fantasia International Film Festival crowns “Nightborn” best film
Finnish‑Lithuanian‑British thriller Nightborn, directed by Hanna Bergholm, received the Cheval Noir trophy for Best Film at the 30th Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. The jury praised its suspenseful storytelling and bittersweet emotional impact.
The festival also honored Kasper Kalle of Denmark/Faroe Islands/Iceland for Best Director for No Rest for the Wicked, while Seidi Haarla earned an Outstanding Performance award for Nightborn and Pilou Asbæk won Best Actor for No Rest for the Wicked. Additional awards went to Andrea Corsini’s Ferine for cinematography and score, and to New Zealand’s Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant as Best First Feature.
